Trust

Nashoba Conservation Trust is a non-profit land trust dedicated to protecting biodiversity, promoting the wise use of natural resources and providing recreational opportunities for the public through the acquisition and stewardship of land.

Land is Pepperell’s link to both its past and to its future. It defines the character of this rural community and offers sanctuary from steadily expanding metropolitan areas. It provides recreational and educational opportunities as well as habitat for diverse animal and plant species. Protection of land is critical to assure our continued quality of life, a future for agriculture, educational and recreational activities, and a safe water supply for Pepperell in the years to come.

NCT works with land owners, the Town of Pepperell and other conservation organizations to  preserve Pepperell’s rural character through land donations and conservation easements. NCT  provides educational activities and recreational hikes for the community, as well as builds and maintains the trails on its lands.  Today residents and visitors can experience Pepperell’s diverse habitats and beautiful scenery on the protected properties NCT owns or manages. NCT additionally reaches out to its members and the community on topical subjects through its newsletter and web site, and coordinates with other conservation groups to support and promote smart and sustainable growth in our region.
